Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia…one of my favorite places on this planet!!

What brought you to Auburn and what do you do here outside of True40?

After graduating with 53 people and going to school with them for 13 years, I knew I was ready to take a leap and spend 4 years somewhere different! I have family who lives close to Auburn, who I only got to see a few times a year…now we are so close and I am so thankful that coming to Auburn has brought me closer to family members I didn’t know too well. I also followed my brother down here, who came for Auburn’s Forestry program…he is married and still lives in Alabama so I am close to him and his wife too! Auburn was the best decision I’ve ever made.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

I think the best and my favorite piece of advice is something my dad always tells me, and that’s “keep doing what you’re doing.” This means so much to me because it just encourages me to keep working as hard as I can and doing my best.

How do you love your body and stay true to you?

Being true to myself means truly listening to my body. That means taking off days when I need them, or pushing myself harder in my workouts to accomplish goals.

Why is fitness important to you?

Fitness is important to me because it keeps me happy. It makes me happy because I’m proud of myself after working out, but it encourages me to want to stay active for life!

Why would you tell someone to try True40?

I would tell someone to try True40 because it truly is designed for every body type due to the numerous modifications and challenges that are offered throughout every class! If your body is tired or if you’re not in the best shape, taking modifications is an awesome way to slow yourself down and listen to what your body is telling you. If you’re looking for that really challenging workout, that’s always possible in True40 too!

What is one thing you are deathly afraid of?

I am deathly afraid of bugs. No, no, no to bugs!!

If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring?

A phone with a never ending battery life, a bathing suit, and a hat … enjoy the beach while you’re there :)

What is one thing on your bucket list?

I have wanted to go to Tanzania and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for the longest time!
