Where are you from and where did you grow up?
I was born and raised here in Birmingham.
What brought you to Birmingham and what do you do here outside of True40?
I majored in marketing at Auburn University, then moved back to Birmingham to work in the banking industry before moving to the legal world. I was the director of recruiting for a large law firm for several years. My husband Jake and I have been married for 4 and a half years and have two children, Ann Margaret (2) and Ford (1). I now stay at home with our two babies and they keep me plenty busy!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Find a fitness program or type of workout you enjoy doing! You won't stick to anything that you dread. And bring a friend. This gives you accountability and an opportunity to spend time together.
How do you love your body and stay true to you?
Each of us were created by God and made so very differently. We are beautiful in His sight. As I teach this to my children it reminds me to celebrate our individuality: our looks, skills, body types, personalities, etc. We need to take care of our bodies to feel and be the best we can be.
What are you deathly afraid of?
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring three things, what would they be?
My family, an aquaphor, and a shaved ice machine.
What do you have with you at all times?
A planner and a to-do list.
Where can we find you at 7 am on most mornings?
You will find me with a cup of coffee either enjoying some quiet time by myself or hanging out with Ford, my little early bird.
