Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Bel Air, MD - a suburb outside of Baltimore.

What brought you to Birmingham and what do you do here outside of True40?

I was born and raised in Bel Air, MD - a suburb outside of Baltimore. I went to Auburn for undergrad (thanks to the Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Women program that literally changed my life in so many ways!), then continued at Auburn for pharmacy school.  My husband Josh and I moved to Birmingham in June 2016 for my rotational year, and we just bought our first house in Cahaba Heights.  When I am not at True40, I am a pharmacist - which I also LOVE! We are thrilled to call Birmingham home!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

"Comparison is the thief of joy."  When you focus on loving yourself with your own God-given talents instead of envying others, jealousy is never an issue!

How do you love your body and stay true to you?

Instead of following a certain type of diet, I try to eat as much fresh food as possible, and practice "body love" - if what I am eating is not beneficial to my body in some way, I try to eat it in extreme moderation!

Why is fitness important to you?

Fitness is so important for your total well-being.  Fitness conditions the physical state of your body, and keeps your body strong and free of injury.  But beyond that, fitness gives life to my emotional and spiritual health, too. When I work out, I find I am able to focus better and love others more effectively.   I also love working out because I feel it honors the Lord with the body He has given me!

Why would you tell someone to try True40?

It is the best (in my book!) balancing workout!  Not only will class help you to balance your physical/emotional/spiritual health, every single class in and of itself is balanced with TRX, barre, pilates, and yoga!

What are you deathly afraid of?

Getting lost without phone service OR a GPS of some sort - I have the worst sense of direction!

If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring?

My Bible, hand sanitizer, and nail polish (I can't stand it when my toes aren't painted!)

What is one item on your bucket list?

To go to Australia! I love to travel, and I feel like a trip to Australia would be one of the ultimate trips I could take!

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I LOVE people, but I also love taking time to myself to recharge. Sometimes, there is nothing like a fluffy blanket and a good book for self-care.
