Where do you hail from?
I grew up in Fort Walton Beach, Florida - just over the bridge from Destin.
So what brings you to the Plains?
My husband went to Auburn for undergrad and then to law school in Montgomery. We got married while he was still in law school and have settled in Auburn!
And we are so very happy that you did. Tell us more!
I am a speech-language pathologist and work in a private practice seeing children and adults. I went to the University of Florida for undergrad and got my Master’s degree at Florida State University, but I will always be a Gator! My husband and I just had our first baby in November. Our sweet angel is the light of our lives! We spend most of our free time basically just staring at her and marveling at every little thing she does while trying to make sure our yellow lab, Gantt, gets some loving too so he doesn't feel left out.
It sounds like you’re big on family. Us too. So tell us some wise words a special person has shared with you.
My mom taught me to be kind always because "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."And my dad used to have a sign in our house that said, "I will do today what others won't, so I can have tomorrow what others can't.” He taught me to live by that principle.
Great wisdom indeed. The True40 mantra is staying true to you. How do you live out that philosophy?
I do my best to stay hydrated, eat well (although nothing stands between me and my ice cream!), and get moving. Staying true to myself depends completely on staying true to my faith and God by reading my Bible and talking with Him daily.
Preach. Daily meditation on a solid anchor… and of course we love all those who allow moments for ice cream! What is one thing most people don’t know about Heather Morgan?
I love doing makeup. I have secret dreams of being a makeup artist. I did my own makeup for my wedding and my best friend even let me do her makeup for her wedding! Me and Sephora together are trouble.
The good kind of trouble though. We love it! Are you deathly afraid of anything?
I can't handle small spaces. I won't crawl under beds, can't get in a crowded elevator, and panic if a ring gets stuck on my finger.
CHILLS. No thanks. We appreciate open spaces. So what do you bring with you when you travel?
Now that we have the baby, lots of diapers! But also books. Always books - even if I never get a chance to read them.
One last thing, where are we most likely to find you at 7:00 a.m.?
On my way to Columbus for work or drinking my coffee and watching Gilmore Girls with my little!
