Meet Kelli Fischer - she is the Assistant Principal at Opelika High School and expecting a sweet baby in July! Originally from Dadeville, she moved to Auburn for her freshman year of college and loved it so much she has never left! Kelli is a very loyal 5:15am member and we love seeing her smiling face in the early morning! She has already taken over 200 classes which just shows her dedication and hard work, especially while being pregnant! We are so glad Kelli is a part of the True40 Family! - Whats a New Years resolution you have always wanted to accomplish?
I have always wanted to run a half marathon and a marathon. I was beginning training for a half marathon the day I found out I was pregnant, so I put that on hold. My hope now is to complete a half marathon by December since Baby will arrive in July.
- How do you wind down from a stressful day?
I usually wind down by going home, changing into comfy clothes, and just relaxing with my husband.
- If you could go anywhere for a vacation, where would you go?
I would love to go to Italy on vacation at some point in my life. My great-grandfather moved to the United States from Italy, so it has always been on my radar!
- What's your favorite part of your workout and your least favorite?
This is a tough question for me, because I have a love/hate relationship with leg work and combo work. They are tied for favorite, but also probably my least favorite because they are SO hard! My actual favorite moment of each True40 class is when I see the instructor start pulling the mats out. I feel like I’ve made it once I get to that point!
- Name 3 things you always have in your purse?
Burt’s Bees chapstick, sunglasses and hand sanitizer! I have a serious phobia of washing my hands in a public restroom!
- What is the best health/fitness advice you’ve ever received?
The best health/fitness advice I’ve ever received has been at True40. They always say “be true to you.” Especially in this season of life (growing a baby), it has been difficult to see my body change knowing I am still doing everything I was doing health-wise prior to getting pregnant. But the instructors at True40, as well as my husband, have been so encouraging through it all. They constantly remind me to do what feels right for my body in this stage and the baby. I have a whole new appreciation for my body and my well-being since making True40 a regular part of my routine, and I am so thankful I was encouraged to keep coming through the pregnancy.
- How do you spend your Saturday mornings?
I typically begin my Saturday mornings by working out at True40 at 8:00. Then depending on the season, I will be tailgating or watching my husband coach cross country or track. The rare Saturdays without sporting events are usually spent doing something outside!
- Who is your biggest advocate?
My biggest advocate is my husband, Jonathan. He continuously amazes me with how well he loves and supports me in everything I do. From being a high school administrator, to working out at True40, to growing our child, he is my biggest supporter in it all. He even joined me for a class at True40 once (still trying to get him to come back)! I wouldn’t be half the woman I am without him!
- What does community mean to you?
Community means being surrounded by people who are dedicated to doing life together and building each other up.
-We are our biggest critics, so what is one thing you love about yourself?
One thing I love about myself is my competitiveness. My whole life I have been very competitive in everything I do- which is another reason I love True40. It allows me to compete with myself to do better every single day.
- What is your favorite holiday and where do you spend it?
I love holidays in general, but my favorite is Christmas. We have spent Christmases with family in Alabama and in Texas. It doesn’t matter to me where we spend it as long as we are surrounded by family!

My favorite tv show is Fixer Upper. If I were to start over and pick a new profession outside of education, I would totally want to spend my days flipping houses with my hubby!
-How do you stay true to you?
As much as I love working out, the best way I’ve found to stay true to me is by digging into God’s word and finding what His purpose is for my life. I am daily blown away by seeing how much greater God’s plan is for my life than my plan. I am learning how to “let go and let God,” which can sometimes be difficult because I am a bit of a control freak. But daily surrendering to God’s will for my life has brought me to greater peace than I could ever imagine.
