True40 is more than just a fitness studio, we are a community with members from all different backgrounds and walks of life. One of the most rewarding things for us is getting to know each of our members. Our members are the bedrock of our foundation and inspire us every day! Every month we are going to highlight a special member whose hard work and dedication stands out to us. With that being said we would like to announce that the True40 April Member of the Month is Lalia Wilder!
Lalia is a California girl from Sacramento. Her and her family of four made the move to the plains after her husband accepted a seat at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Lalia never fails to give less than 100 percent in each class! We are so impressed by her progress since becoming part of the True40 Family!
What's a New Years resolution you have always wanted to accomplish?
Normally I don't write down New Years resolutions, but this year I made a promise to myself to get healthy and fit. A lot of that has to do with my high blood pressure discovered late of last year. With my membership at True40, I have been able to take control of my fitness by planning my workouts each week and sticking with it. I am still working hard on my eating choices, but it is an every day battle.
And we understand completely just how difficult that every day battle can be! So tell us, how do you wind down from a stressful day?
I usually wind down with a cup of Green Tea or take a nap after a stressful day.
What's your favorite part of your workout?
My favorite part of my workout at True40 is working at the barre. It makes push-ups and triceps a whole lot easier.
What's your least favorite?
The leg workouts at the barre are my least favorite, but I know they work. (Mainly the squat pulse holding onto the bar, those are killers!) My thighs and butt never looked as toned as they do now!
What is the best health/fitness advice you’ve ever received?
You Live! No matter how hard the workout or what life throws at you....you are in charge of how you overcome.
How do you spend your Saturday mornings?
If I'm not at True40 I am sleeping in or making breakfast for my family and spending it with them.
Who is your biggest advocate?
My husband supports me and pushes me to keep to my schedule. My daughter Remi is my workout buddy at home on my off days.
How do you stay true to you?
I never try to be something I'm not. My husband, my kids and God help keep me honest and true to myself.
