- What’s a New Year’s resolution you have always wanted to accomplish?
Like everyone I think losing weight and getting in shape was at the top of my list. Honestly, I stopped making that resolution because I didn’t seem to accomplish it, but over this past year with an impending wedding and some other life changes something just clicked and I set my mind to accomplishing that for myself! I am happy to say that 2016 has been my year and I am happier and healthier because of it. Not quite where I want to be but almost :)
- How do you wind down from a stressful day?
True 40 of course and the occasional glass of cabernet sauvignon! No such thing as too much wine right!!
- What's your favorite part of your workout?
Push-ups at the barre and seeing the results in my arms!!! The feeling of complete relaxation and accomplishment at the end gives me so much more energy than I ever had before! (And seeing what my Fitbit calorie burn is ;-))
- What's your least favorite?
While I use to cringe when I heard the words “Horse pose” come out of the instructors mouth I have to say pistol squats because I have yet to be able to do these on both sides of my body without feeling like a total spazz.
- Name 3 things you always have in your purse?
Lipstick, lipstick and lipstick!!!! Along with chewing gum and Ibuprofen so I am ready to tackle anything life hands me!
- What is the best health/fitness advice you’ve ever received?
That fitness isn’t a chore that you HAVE to do, but an investment in yourself and your health that will improve all aspects of your life and to just move! Even if it was just for 5-10 minutes!
- Who is your biggest advocate?
My Mom has always been my biggest advocate. She has always been supportive of everything that I do instilling in me that I can do anything I put my mind to! I only hope that I have done half the same for my daughter Katie.
- What does community mean to you?
Community to me is a feeling of belonging and acceptance where everyone’s individual talents and strongpoints converge to compliment those of others and make the whole a better place. It is an environment of encouragement and support in times of trial and celebration. A place where you are always greeted with a smile and a hug!
- We are our biggest critics, so what is one thing you love about yourself?
My smile! I always try to keep a smile on my face even when I don’t feel like it because I know when I see someone else smiling it always makes me day, so I want to do the same for others.
- Pick one to share: favorite author, book, song, musician, chef, athlete, tv show
One of my favorite songs is Valentine by Martina McBride…one of my favorite lines is “if there were no words, no way to speak…I would still feel you”. I am a sucker for a love song.
- How do you stay true to you?
I have learned to schedule time for me to exercise because now that I have made the commitment to be healthy and fit and have achieved the results I want it to continue. It has also spilled over into all areas of my life. My theme along this journey has actually been “be true” so I kind of ask myself if I am about to do something if I am being true to me so that guides my choices.
Kayron, we are so thankful for you and your joyful, contagious spirit! Thank you for being part of our True40 Family!
